Time to feel good!

I can never do the same fitness plan/workout for a long time. I get bored, so I'm constantly changing my workout plans. I can do it if it's a short term plan. I plan my workouts for a week at a time and that seems to work the best for me. My work schedule is never the same and because I work nights it's hard to workout at the same time everyday, so I take it day by day and week by week.
Right now I'm counting calories and limiting my sugar intake (I like sweet things way too much). I'm trying to eat healthier and focusing on vegetables and protein.
My workout plan for the last few weeks have been to run on my days off. I usually take my big doggy Charcoal along (pictured to the right :). He basically drags me into a run. He's strong but he is getting old and fat and so am I, so we going to workout together.
So days I work or days in between work, I do strengthening and/or abs, usually something off of Pinterest. It's a see-how-I-feel-that-day sort of plan. I'm not so rigid with the workouts but I am with the diet. That's where I struggle, but it's what makes me lose faster. Go figure.
So far (I've been doing this for about a week) it's been real good and I feel real good. I use MyFitnessPal to track my diet and I make sure I do some sort of workout daily. I definitely feel more energetic and that's saying something. My motives are to feel good and then to look good. It takes work, but I want to enjoy it! And I am!

  1. That's good I'm trying to work out too, but I'm failing.

    1. You can do it, Gweets! I read an awesome book to help me with exercise (and any goal)--Change Anything. It's not about what you "should" do, but rather, what are your goals, here's how you do it. It's not a quick fix, but nothing in life that is worthwhile has a quick fix. Everything that really matters takes a lot of hard work.

  2. Yay, Hilaree! Glad you're feeling good. I need to start something, too. And since the weather is getting a tiny bit better, I may be out running in the next few weeks. SO glad you're taking Charcoal along. That poor doggy needs exercise and attention.
