First payday and I kinda went crazy!

New Job!!!

I got a job at Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital! It's not a very big hospital, but it's a great place for a brand new nurse to learn. I started yesterday with a class they offer to their patients about total joint replacement. I start the nursing part tonight. I'll be doing night shift at the beginning, but they will still train me for day shift. I want to do mostly nights, but I'll do whatever is available. I feel like such a career woman now! I'm working out in the real world! :) I'm really excited about this job and I can't wait to start being a nurse!!

The problem with getting a job is that now I have money coming. I prematurely went shopping. Sunglasses are my 2nd favorite accessory after shoes. I bought 2 pairs of sunglasses and 2 cases. I couldn't help myself.

More exciting news!!! I became an aunt for the 12th time yesterday! My sister Jessica had her 5th child! Congrats you guys! Her name is Anthea and she is so cute!!!

I am obsessed with sunglasses at the moment. They are my current accessory of choice. I know it's no longer summer, but I live in Arizona so it doesn't matter. I took a bunch of pictures to show them off! :) Have a look see! (I know they look a lot alike, but they're different. Each one is unique and I choose which one I am going to wear depending on my mood!)

Metro Fashion! Part 2, Accessories

Metro Fashion continues! I have improved in my sneaky camera action. I caught some of my favorite wears! I'm focusing on the accessories of the metro frequents (and even the infrequents). Shoes, Jewelry, hats, headphones, sunglasses. All of that good stuff!

I love shoes and I was hoping for someone to wear some HOT ones, but people mostly wear sandals and shoes like these!

Hats are always smart in the heat and I always love the idea of a bright bag to match. I love this picture. She looks cool.

I think tattoos can be classified as an accessory even though it's a permanent one (and not always a wise choice). This was my favorite metro tattoo this week! Can you tell who it is? Plus those socks!

The light rail is totally awesome and the fashion is totally awesome. If I see any outfit or accessory that is truly crazy, I'll get a picture, now that I'm more stealthy!

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers...

Miss Heather Oliphant, a friend of Margaret and myself, came over and watched a few movies and taught us and Jeani (sister-in-law) how to make these fabric flowers. I turned a few into hair clips and the others will become something else.

Heather makes a bunch of these type of flowers and she has a website where she shows them off! They are really cute!

We had so much fun making them and it doesn't require a lot of fabric. We used scraps that my mom had left over from her quilts. These flowers are great for little girls and easy to make. Maybe when I go out East I'll show my nieces how to make them!

Also, when I was helping my mom clean her laundry room I found a bunch of antique buttons and things and my mom gave me this one. She thinks it was her grandmother's. I'm hoping to make it into a necklace or something, so look forward to seeing it again!

Also again, this week is the one year anniversary of my amazing adventure to AFRICA! July 14th last year with a group of 8 girls I ventured off to Mozambique for some life-changing volunteer work! This is one of my favorite pictures and one of the firsts that I took in Moz! This week there will be something about Africa in each post!

Beaded Creations!

One of my fave hobbies is making Jewelry! Here are a few of my favorites that I have made in the past...

This is where it all began!

Back in grade school I discovered my talent for beading while making these colorful animals!

I then moved on to jewelry. I began making rings, which were pretty easy. I tried some more complex styles like the flower ring.

Now I make necklaces and earrings and bracelets as well!

I made these earrings today when Faith came over to play. I got the two leaves at a craft store and I added the chain and beads. I think they look really good. I love working with beads! I'll post about any new pieces I make!
