Time to feel good!

I can never do the same fitness plan/workout for a long time. I get bored, so I'm constantly changing my workout plans. I can do it if it's a short term plan. I plan my workouts for a week at a time and that seems to work the best for me. My work schedule is never the same and because I work nights it's hard to workout at the same time everyday, so I take it day by day and week by week.
Right now I'm counting calories and limiting my sugar intake (I like sweet things way too much). I'm trying to eat healthier and focusing on vegetables and protein.
My workout plan for the last few weeks have been to run on my days off. I usually take my big doggy Charcoal along (pictured to the right :). He basically drags me into a run. He's strong but he is getting old and fat and so am I, so we going to workout together.
So days I work or days in between work, I do strengthening and/or abs, usually something off of Pinterest. It's a see-how-I-feel-that-day sort of plan. I'm not so rigid with the workouts but I am with the diet. That's where I struggle, but it's what makes me lose faster. Go figure.
So far (I've been doing this for about a week) it's been real good and I feel real good. I use MyFitnessPal to track my diet and I make sure I do some sort of workout daily. I definitely feel more energetic and that's saying something. My motives are to feel good and then to look good. It takes work, but I want to enjoy it! And I am!

Eye make-up: Pinterest idea

It's unrealistic to get your make-up to look as perfect as the photo's on Pinterest. Most of that is done by professionals or with more time than I am willing to spend on my own face. I still like to put on make-up and look nice. I like to experiment with colors and see what I can pull off! I have a few ideas posted on my make-up board, and this is the latest one that I tried.

Mine doesn't look quite as awesome, partly because I am way white and I don't like eyeliner all that much. But overall I was pleased with the result! I liked the color combination and thought it did well with the look I was going for. A sort of mystical-cool, not-that-into-you type of look! :)

Pinterest Fashion!

Peplum style coming back from the old days!
So I pin a lot on my style board and it's probably my favorite. I've pinned a few outfits that have one focus and that is the peplum.
Here are the photos from my board that inspired my outfit that I wore to church today. I bought the shirt on clearance from Charlotte Russe when I was shopping with my BFF Faith. It was a happy buy. When I left for church my mom said I look very 40s inspired.
Mission accomplished!

Healthy Orange Julius

I made a healthy smoothie that I had pinned to my food/recipe board! It sounded yummy and refreshing and easy to make.
All it is- 1 can of concentrated OJ
1 cup milk
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 ripe banana
1-2 cups of ice depending on how thick you want it.
Then blend away!
The drink was pretty good. I think I put too much OJ in it, but it was refreshing. It's nothing exceptional, but it's another option for something yummy.
I did modify it a little. I added spinach. Everytime I make a fruit smoothie I add some spinach. It's packed with nutritious wonderfulness and you can hardly taste it. It turns your drink funny colors but it's so good for you. Like Pop-Eye says, "I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach!"

Celebration Card

This week I chose a pin from my craft board. I didn't want to do anything too fancy cause I was feeling a bit lazy. I had pinned this card and it looked pretty simple. I just tried to copy the picture with what I had. I found some scrapbook paper that I thought was cute and went to work, while watching Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone! It's one of my favorite of the HP movies.
So here is the final project compared to the original one. I must say, I did pretty good.  And Pinterest is a lot more fun and meaningful when you actually use what you pin! Until next week and next pin...maybe i'll cook something...

Pinterest Hair

So the point of Pinterest is to pin an idea and then go back to it later, right? I must admit that I am a pin-aholic and am guilty of the whole "well, when I have time" or "when I have money" or "when I am married" excuses. I have decided to change this. Goal: Fulfill a pin every week! This week I did one of the pins on my hair board. Here is the pin!
It claims to be easy (like everything else on Pinterest), so I tried it. I rolled my hair using paper towels and then I diffused it using the lowest setting. I didn't do my whole head because I have naturally curly hair and the underneath always ringlets. Basically all this did for me was make the top part curl tighter.

I did like how it looked, but I probably won't do it again cause the result wasn't worth the work. It would probably be worth it if  you had straight or wavy hair. Curly hair can be so unpredictable. One day it will look awesome and when you try to do it again, it just won't work. Life can be hard.
Well, until next pin...
