Oklahoma!!!

There and back again!
 A Wade's tale!
So not last weekend but the one before, My family drove out to drop off my brother Mike and his family. It was a long drive and we only spent about a day in Oklahoma. A very quick trip for my parents and I. We calculated it and out of the 65 hours that was the trip, 48 of those were spent in the car driving. That's a lot of time! I spent a great deal of it sleeping when I wasn't driving. We left late Thursday evening and got to Oklahoma City late Friday night. We stayed with my cousin Michelle and her husband Mike! They were so nice to let us stay! The next morning we drove to Tulsa and unpacked! Thankfully, Mike and Jeani's ward came and helped unload. It made the job go quicker. My mom and I got to babysit Kayli one more time. She played a lot with Dot! When the job was done, we went to eat at Freebirds (I think it only exists in the Mid-West). It was yummy stuff. We then said goodbyes :( and my parents, Dot, and I drove home, getting to AZ Sunday afternoon. So you can see that it was a very quick trip.  It was fun even though it was so short and a lot of driving. We sang "Oklahoma" a lot and with every Wade trip there were a few misadventures and tender mercies along the way. (The truck broke down on the way there setting us back about 2-3 hours, but there was a gas station just a few miles ahead!) It was all good. It was sad saying goodbye, but my mom and I are already planning a trip out there in August. I will miss Mike and Jeani and my little tiny-person, Kayli Mae!! I love them and I hope they have a good time living in Tulsa!
Here are some photos (a lot of Kayli, including some older ones)

Why I love Christmas...

It's the feeling of the season that gets me. The memories. It means family time. My family came in a week ago and we surprised my mom. She didn't know that my two oldest siblings were coming. It was a big surprise! Happy 60th Mom! Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday, Faith!!

Yesterday was my BFF Faith's birthday, but the festivities actually began the day before. We have been planning this eventful evening for a month and it was finally here! We first began by treating our self to some delicious Indian food! We had the dinner buffet at India Oven and it was delicious!
Next we went to Cinemark to wait in line for 4 hours to watch the much anticipated "Hunger Games!"
Here we are in line! We just hung out and talked and saw old friends and played card games. It wasn't too bad of a wait. We made friends with some of the people waiting with us.
Finally, We got in and Faith and I got great seats! Both of us weren't feeling too good (that wasn't going to stop us) so we got some munchies to keep us comfortable!
Finally the movie began! It was AWESOME! When a movie is based off a book, it ends up being picked apart. It's hard to live up to the imagination of the readers. In my case I think the movie did real well. It was very much like I imagined. It was also very exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat! It's worth seeing whether you read the book or not! (Read the book!) :)
It was a fun night. I'm not a fan of midnight showings, but i enjoyed being with Faith. I'll get over my sleep deprivation eventually! Happy Birthday Faith!!!
Oh and Happy Birthday to my wonderful Father. His Birthday was this week as well, but we are celebrating it next week when the whole family can get together!

Family Metro!

Last weekend I went to a concert in Phoenix with my family! It was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and it was for the celebration of Arizona's Centennial! We rode the light rail into the city! It was a lot of fun and they were all depending on me and my vast knowledge of the light rail! :) The concert was awesome, but the light rail was really really crowded. On the way home I made friends with a drunk man who said I was cute and then apologized for being so forward. He then tried to sneak his arm around me, but I've learned a few tricks to get away. He was like 60 years old! Just another interesting, metro experience. Anyways, it was a lot of fun to ride with family. Here are some pictures!

Halloween Favorites!

Halloween is coming! I love this holiday! There are 6 big reasons why! Let's discuss them...

1. Decorating my mom's house! I love this part of the holiday season! It makes my house feel like it is really October! (And yes, I still live with my parents! :)
2. Dressing up! You can be whoever and whatever you want to be! This is Margaret and I last year. We went crazy with the pink hair spray!

3. Everything Pumpkin/pumpkin pie. The flavor is getting into everything and I love it all! I got frozen yogurt that was pumpkin pie and cheescake! Yummy!
4.The Great Pumpkin! You are a good man Charlie Brown...and Linus who stays up and waits for the Great Pumpkin! I love that InStyle (my fave magazine) listed this as one of their fave fall things and it is one of mine too!

5. Candy corn/pumpkins! Need I say more?! No. My Father, a candy corn vampire!

6. It begins the Holiday Season!!! The goal is Christmas. It's always Christmas! (at least for me!)
Can't wait to trick or treat! Only 26 days...

Random phone photo

This is a drawer at my Dad's work! It's filled with Oreos and an astronaut pig. He's a high school seminary teacher....why the pig? I don't know, but now you know a bit about my Dad!

Classroom Decor!

I've been helping my dad decorate his classroom for the upcoming school year. It's a tradition that his daughters decorate his room every year. My older sisters did it before me and when they got older, Margi and I started doing it. I asked my dad what he is going to do when Margi and I get married and move away and he said he would probably retire! :) My dad teaches religion. He's known as a Seminary teacher and he teaches high school kids. This year the kids are studying the Old Testament! So there is a lot about the Creation and the prophets such as Moses, Noah, and Abraham. Margi and I had a lot of fun decorating and the last day Faith (my BFF) and her son, Lewis came and she helped us finish! I think it looks awesome!
Also, I was so focused on decorating my dad's classroom that I was surfing the web looking for ideas and I came across a few photos of just neat classrooms. I love the "old school" (haha pun!) look for classes. This one is my fave!
This is a traveling futuristic class. Neat, right?
And I loved this one too!
