Killers in Vegas

Went to Vega this last weekend to see the Killers in concert! It was awesome beyond belief! Guess who we met??? BRANDON FLOWERS!!!!! Ya it happened by total chance! He was walking through the lobby just a few minutes after we arrived! He's the lead singer for the Killers, FYI! :) (P.S. photos were taken on phones, not the best resolution.)
Here we are before the show started. Ashlee, myself, Margaret. The first opening band was actually really good, "Most Thieves". I bought their CD and we met some of the band members afterwards. Got their autographs!
And here he is! We were in the very front! Very close! It was dreamy!!!
Brandon and Ronny. Ronny became one of mine and Marg's favorites. Never stopped beating those drums!
We also went to Benihana's whilst we were in Vegas! It was yummy and entertaining!
It was a weekend I'll never forget! Thanks Ash for the photos, Marg hasn't sent me her's yet!

Pinterest Exercise!

So I still love pinning. One of my favorite boards is my fitness board. It's so motivational. Every picture just makes me want to work harder and be healthier. It's hard to motivate yourself and to eat right when food is just so good! My sister and I are trying this quick start diet and I've already lost some weight. We're done with Insanity and now just pick and choose whatever workouts we want. Just stay active! So I've done every workout on my board at least once. These are the pictures of my favorites.

It's time to feel great about yourself and life!

Healthy Orange Julius

I made a healthy smoothie that I had pinned to my food/recipe board! It sounded yummy and refreshing and easy to make.
All it is- 1 can of concentrated OJ
1 cup milk
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 ripe banana
1-2 cups of ice depending on how thick you want it.
Then blend away!
The drink was pretty good. I think I put too much OJ in it, but it was refreshing. It's nothing exceptional, but it's another option for something yummy.
I did modify it a little. I added spinach. Everytime I make a fruit smoothie I add some spinach. It's packed with nutritious wonderfulness and you can hardly taste it. It turns your drink funny colors but it's so good for you. Like Pop-Eye says, "I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach!"

Summer Love- 100th Post!!!

HAPPY 100TH POST!!! Whoever comments 1st wins a liter IV bag of normal saline!!! :)
So... Summer is great! It's one of my top 4 favorite seasons! There are just certain things that make it wonderful and here are the things I love about the season!
1) Food: lemonade, popsicles, ice cream, BBQ, corn on the cob, & watermelon!!! A lot of food, but most of the things in life that I love have to do with food.

2) 4th of July! Yay USA!!!

3) Swim Parties: a necessity in AZ

4) Traveling: I have already been to DC and Utah this summer!

5) No school: Now that I am no longer a student, but a graduate...it doesn't seem to big a deal. I do love that some of my family members are not in school.

Summer is great! HAGS everybody!!! :)

Snowflake

On Saturday my mom and I drove up to Snowflake. We went for Mother's day, because it's where my mother grew up and where my mother's mother is buried. I love Snowflake and I really feel connected to it because so much of my family history is tied to that place. My Great-Great-Great Grandfather was one of the founders of the town. Here is his name and he is the one standing next to the wheel-cart in the sculpture.
We visited my great-aunt Maryland and I got to know her better. She's a sweet woman and I loved her stories. We also visited the grave sites of my mother's parents. My mother loves to visit because sometimes she misses them.
We visited a few shops in town and ate at this soup-&-sandwich place. It was super yummy. I had roast-beef and tomato basil soup....mmmmm. It was great visiting and driving and hanging out with my mom! She is awesome!

Happy Birthday, Faith!!

Yesterday was my BFF Faith's birthday, but the festivities actually began the day before. We have been planning this eventful evening for a month and it was finally here! We first began by treating our self to some delicious Indian food! We had the dinner buffet at India Oven and it was delicious!
Next we went to Cinemark to wait in line for 4 hours to watch the much anticipated "Hunger Games!"
Here we are in line! We just hung out and talked and saw old friends and played card games. It wasn't too bad of a wait. We made friends with some of the people waiting with us.
Finally, We got in and Faith and I got great seats! Both of us weren't feeling too good (that wasn't going to stop us) so we got some munchies to keep us comfortable!
Finally the movie began! It was AWESOME! When a movie is based off a book, it ends up being picked apart. It's hard to live up to the imagination of the readers. In my case I think the movie did real well. It was very much like I imagined. It was also very exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat! It's worth seeing whether you read the book or not! (Read the book!) :)
It was a fun night. I'm not a fan of midnight showings, but i enjoyed being with Faith. I'll get over my sleep deprivation eventually! Happy Birthday Faith!!!
Oh and Happy Birthday to my wonderful Father. His Birthday was this week as well, but we are celebrating it next week when the whole family can get together!

Missing Africa

Soooo...I went on this way fun date last Saturday with my friend Ben. We made pizzas. We made ours in the shape of Africa. He served his mission in Sierra Leone and as you know I went to Mozambique. We both love Africa! So we made a pizza that looks like Africa!
We are pointing at our homes!!

The finished product!
Cool, right?
I miss Africa a lot. I miss it everyday. I really want to go back. I miss the people. I miss the adventure. I want to go back. Maybe I will!
