Getting Skinny!
We are running now! Faith and I are running now to get into shape! We want to run in the Trukey Trot on Thanksgiving! It's a 10K (6.2 miles) and we want to do it under 1:10:00. Crazy!! That's about 12 minute miles. I think we can do it. Plus I have a goal to lose 10 lbs by Halloween, so we are going to run and do P90X like crazy! I think we will be able to do it and I actually like to run now! :) Makes me feel great!

Metro Fashion! Part 2, Accessories
Metro Fashion continues! I have improved in my sneaky camera action. I caught some of my favorite wears! I'm focusing on the accessories of the metro frequents (and even the infrequents). Shoes, Jewelry, hats, headphones, sunglasses. All of that good stuff!
I love shoes and I was hoping for someone to wear some HOT ones, but people mostly wear sandals and shoes like these!
My faves!Hats are always smart in the heat and I always love the idea of a bright bag to match. I love this picture. She looks cool.
I think tattoos can be classified as an accessory even though it's a permanent one (and not always a wise choice). This was my favorite metro tattoo this week! Can you tell who it is? Plus those socks!
"DOH!"
This is my favorite accessory that I always wear on the light-rail. My U2 ipod!

Westwood's 50th and Pine's Apples
Westwood High School (my alma mater) celebrated it's 50th anniversary as a school and there was a party! I went and partied at the parade, alumni party, and the football game! I went with Faith, my BFF of 6 years. We became BFFs Sophmore year right when we began high school!
At the football game with Lewis! Go Warriors!
We haven't changed too much since high school! :) Still silly!
The Homecoming parade was awesome! They had a float for every decade of Weswood's existence! This is my decade! 2000-2011 It's a warrior headdress! Totally cool!
This is my other favorite because of who's on it!
This was the Seniors float and I thought it was awesome! I remembered that I am a Senior too (in college!) and so I felt special about graduating in 2012 too!
Today, I went to Pine! Pine is a cute little town that has festivals every once in a while. Ashlee and I went to one in May and decided to go back again and we brought Holly with us this time! It was the Fall Apple Festival. We shopped and I ate a carmel apple, while Ashlee and Holly had their frozen chocolate covered bananas.
Ashlee and I bought charm bracelets! (mine is on the left)
It's been a fun weekend!
P.S. Ovarf? Tribute to my random sister, Margi who is random at times! Check out her awesome and hilarious blog!

The First Day of Autumn!!!
HAPPY FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN!!!
It's officially Autumn and that makes me super excited. It's in the stores! The best brownies in the world are also celebrating and I'm loving it! (Little Debbies are my fave brownies).
There are also pumpkins in the stores and I was so tempted to buy one! Can't wait to carve one! I think I'll make mine scary this year! :)
***Outcome of the favorite fall holiday poll***
Readers voted and Thanksgiving won by one vote over Halloween and Veterans day taggled behind barely. Apparently no one really likes Labor Day! Poor Labor Day!

Metro Fashion! Part 1
Its monday again and I rode the metro. Over the last week or so I've noticed the major fashion trends of my beloved metro people. I have seen the shortest shorts and the tightest pants on a guy, and about every decade's major fashions. ASU shirts are everywhere too. (Sometimes I'm in one!) College students tend to be the trendy ones but sometimes they wear interesting things.
Go-go boot sighting! (my picture was messed up, but they looked like these) I don't know if these are coming back (I hope not), but a student was sporting them hardcore! And college boys always wear stripes and I don't know why...
Fashion on the light rail is so diverse and I think my fave outfit this week was a man in a biker outfit (and I tried to get a pic, but the guy got off too soon...dang!). I need to work on my stealth-picture-taking-skills more! The guy's outfit was dark blue spandex to the ankles, a green and orange bike shirt, a helmet, and biking goggles. He stood out! He also had sweat bands around his wrists and a red water backpack. The best part of his outfit was that he didn't have a bike, but he was prepared :)
Also, the men in blue. Security stand out with their blue collars, radios, badges and card swipy things.
Part 2 coming! Metro accessories!!!

Jewelry & Shoes, YAY!
I forgot to blog about this, but when my sister was here from VA we beaded and made jewelry. This is what I made. The earrings were my sister, Steph's idea! She made an identical set for herself.

Metro Monday on Tuesday
Busy day yesterday so Metro Monday was pushed to a Tuesday. Interesting and awkward moments happen on the train everyday, especially during the busy times. When the train gets packed and people are constantly shuffling on and off. I usually get a seat because a lot of people get off when I get on, so I can observe the human behavior a lot better. When the shuffling is happening awkward things happen. Everybody is trying to move out of the way with two goals. Don't get touched and move as little as possible. It makes me giggle to watch them squirm and cringe when someone brushes by them. Oh metro people...they make me smile.
Also, when you are on the train, people will stare at you. Sometimes just normal glances or in creepy ways. It will make you uncomfortable and I learned that the best way to deal with it is to make them more uncomfortable. I stare back. Usually more intensely then they do and then they usually stop looking at me or go to the other end of the train. Works like a charm. Of course, you have to know who it is you are dealing with or they might just start laughing and then talk to you...that could be a problem. Still learning how to deal with that. I'll keep you updated.
Sometimes I talk back or I put my ear phones in before its too late. All depends.

We will always remember...
10 years ago I was eating breakfast. Getting ready for school when my brother runs up the stairs and yells that the World Trade Center has been hit. He woke up to his radio sharing the news. We quickly turn on our TV. Every channel streamed the news about how something crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers. Then suddenly we see another airplane crash into the other tower. I think fear stuck every American at that moment. It hit me! Then two more planes crash in DC and Pennsylvania moments later.
When you see and experience something like 9.11 you never forget it. I'm sure everybody remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. It was a terrible day. It's been ten years today. We honor the heroes of 9/11 and remember all those who died that day.
We will always remember 9/11.

Patriotism (not just another ism)
I love being an American and I love when we stand together and honor our heritage! And I especially love when we honor those we have lost. Freedom is important and being patriotic is important. Remember this weekend!

Fall Fever!
I am seriously suffering from fall fever! (hence blog background!) I can't handle it! The leaves need to change colors, the holidays need to start, and Psych needs to be on again! I am excited that it's September already, but there's still 2 months till Halloween... (and only 1 till Psych!)
I love Fall and there are a few reasons why!
1. Fall colors, including red Arizona mountains!
2. Pumpkins (for carving and Pie!)
3. Trick or treating (preferably a treat!)
4. Candy Corn (makes me smile!)
5. Fall Fashion... Yes!
6. Thanksgiving Feast... Yum!
7. (which is really #1) Christmas is on it's way!!!
Fall just gives me a happy feeling! When I see fall colors and "cozy" things I feel wonderful! Try it out... how do you feel when you look at these photos?
Looking forward to the holidays!!! ...and the Great Pumpkin!!! :)
